Projects

The work is the proof.

Eight hotels commissioned. More than 1,300 jobs for 220+ clients since 2012 — from island resorts to city boardrooms. A selection of the work that shows how we think.

W Sydney at The Ribbon, Darling Harbour
Hospitality · Flagship

W Sydney — The Ribbon

The venue

Sydney's landmark hotel development on Darling Harbour — a new-build flagship where the AV had to be right on opening night, because there is no second one.

The brief

Deliver AV across the new hotel as part of the development itself — engaged on the construction side, where the systems are designed into the building rather than bolted on after handover.

What we did

Full AV integration delivered across nine separate work packages over the life of the development — design, installation, programming and commissioning as one continuous engagement.

The outcome

The hotel opened with its AV commissioned, documented and handed over — and it has kept working since.

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort
Hospitality · Resort

InterContinental Hayman Island

The venue

One of Australia's most iconic island destinations, at the edge of the Whitsundays — a five-star resort where the nearest wholesaler is a barge ride away.

The brief

Resort-wide AV for a property that hosts everything from conferences to weddings, in an environment where every piece of equipment arrives by sea or air and rework is measured in days, not hours.

What we did

AV integration and commissioning across the resort — with the logistics planned as carefully as the signal flow.

The outcome

Systems handed over commissioned and documented, built to be supported from the mainland.

The Deck at Crowne Plaza Hobart at night
Hospitality · Venue

Crowne Plaza Hobart

The venue

Crowne Plaza's Hobart hotel and its signature venues, including The Deck — spaces that trade on atmosphere, where the AV is part of the product.

The brief

Integrated audio, video and control across the hotel's venues — systems the venue team can run themselves, night after night.

What we did

Audio, video and control integration, programmed and commissioned for daily operation by hotel staff.

The outcome

Venues that run on their own AV, operated by the people who work in them — no technician required on a Tuesday night.

Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach
Hospitality · Heritage

Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach

The venue

The beachside Crowne Plaza at Coogee — and the project that explains why Avestar understands venues from the inside.

The brief

Avestar began in 2012 as a venue-management company, and Coogee was ours to run: the events business itself, not just its cabling. The venue was renewed around 2018 on the strength of Avestar's offer.

What we did

Operated and equipped the hotel's event venues — the rare integrator's perspective of having sat on the venue side of the handover, carrying the run sheets and taking the 6pm calls.

The outcome

The experience that shaped how we build for hospitality now: systems designed for the people who operate them, because we've been those people.

Breakout space in a Frasers Property Australia workplace
Workplace · Developer Partnership

Frasers Property Australia

The client

One of Australia's major property developers — a client that needs AV thought about at building scale, not room by room.

The brief

One AV partner across two fronts: Frasers' own workplaces, and the developments they build — including Brunswick & Co.

What we did

Design, consultancy, delivery and ongoing support across Frasers' office sites and build projects — a standing relationship, not a series of one-off installs. That includes Yealink meeting-room systems Frasers specced themselves and purchased through us, for the installation and support behind the hardware.

The outcome

A direct-to-developer partnership: AV designed in with the building, delivered as capital works, supported after handover — the same way our hotel work is done.

Boardroom with wall-mounted display and video bar
Workplace

Automic Group

The brief

Automic knew exactly what they wanted — they specced Yealink for their meeting rooms themselves. What they bought from Avestar wasn't the hardware; it was an accountable owner for the installation, integration and support behind it.

What we did

Supplied, installed and now support their Yealink meeting-room systems across the workplace — the difference between a delivery of boxes and rooms that work.

The outcome

Rooms the team walks into and uses — no instruction manual on the table, and a phone number that answers when something changes.

Service · Upgrade

Vedanta Centre of Sydney

The venue

The Centre's main hall — a working venue with a dozen wired sources and eight wireless microphones in daily use.

The brief

It started as a single piece of hardware: a Bose EX1280 processor, supplied by Avestar to replace the hall's existing DSP.

What we did

On-site commissioning turned one box into a properly engineered system. The new processor went in as the hall's master DSP. The client's own second-hand amplifier refused to boot — we diagnosed it to a hardware fault rather than burning hours chasing firmware, and replaced it from stock. Eight wireless microphones needed inputs the master didn't have to spare, so a second Bose processor was added as a Dante bridge — the elegant answer, not the expensive one. And the hall's existing wall controller was confirmed compatible and reprogrammed rather than replaced.

The outcome

A commissioned, fully documented system handed over in June 2026 — and a service relationship that continues. This is what honest specification looks like: keep what works, replace what's failed, and solve the real problem.
